Witch Bat

Make a fun witch bat and enjoy lots of creative play. Don’t worry about drawing the wings—simply download our TEMPLATE.

What will you need?

  • a wooden clothespin
  • a printed template
  • white or black paper
  • scissors, optionally brushes
  • a black crayon, marker, or paint
  • glue
  • small googly eyes or beads

How to make the bat

1. Print the template or draw your own wings and cut them out.

2. Color the wings (if using white paper) with a black crayon, marker, or paint. Alternatively, trace the template onto black paper and simply cut it out.

3. Paint the entire clothespin black.

4. Place the clothespin so that the opening side faces upward. Then glue or draw the eyes on the top part. You have several options for making the eyes:

  • paint them using white or red paint (red eyes look spookier)
  • stick on store-bought googly eyes like in our photo
  • use beads
  • cut out small white circles, glue them on, and draw the details

5. Apply glue to the straight edge of the wings (marked with a dashed line on our template) and attach them from underneath to the clothespin.

Done! Your decoration or fun toy is ready. Wishing you lots of witchy fun,
